In 1980, GRUPO SAMSA was founded by Juan José Quesada Garita,
who began his journey with the simple commercialization of blackberries. Over time, as he gained deeper insight into the food
industry, he saw the need for a greater variety of products. This realization sparked the expansion into exotic fruits such as
passion fruit, cas, naranjilla, starfruit, granadilla, and many more, sourced directly from local farmers to ensure premium quality
and freshness, while also supporting the national economy.
Today, Corporación Grupo SAMSA de Centroamérica SA has evolved into a leader in the agro-industrial sector, specializing in
tamarind products, fruit purées for the industrial market, natural beverages, and a wide range of fruit pulps in over 24 distinct
flavors. Our commitment to quality is unmatched, as we work hand-in-hand with farmers and producers across the region, fostering strong,
sustainable partnerships that drive both innovation and economic development.
At the heart of our operations lies our unwavering dedication to Corporate Social Responsibility. Since our earliest days, we have
implemented a variety of environmental initiatives, such as planting trees with schoolchildren and engaging in community service.
In addition to our environmental efforts, we have made it a priority to give back to local communities through donations to organizations
like Obras del Espíritu Santo, Casa Tzadic, and local churches. We've also developed academic training programs for community members,
and we collaborate closely with educational institutions like the Costa Rican Institute of Technology, giving students a chance to learn
more about the food industry.

What is the guarantee of the quality and safety of the products?
Corporación Grupo SAMSA de Centro América S.A. is the company responsible for producing these products. The company is currently in the process of implementing a Food Safety and Quality Management System, aiming for BRC Food international certification. During production, various aspects are considered, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP), Supplier Approval Program, Traceability, Integrated Pest Management Program, HACCP, Food Fraud, general and nutritional food labeling, among other processes that ensure the quality and safety of the food produced.
